The response to the opportunity to see historic tsunami deposits in the field has been overwhelming. As a result, the one previously scheduled tour will be split into two tours. Registered participants are being notified of the change in plans by email.
In order to accommodate the numbers of interested residents, the tour scheduled for 4:00 p.m. is now rescheduled for 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Residents who have registered will be notified of their assigned tour time along with parking information and instructions for shuttle service to the drop point along the Niawaikum River. Anyone who may have signed up is encouraged to check their email for instructions related to the change in plans.
Residents going on the tour are encouraged to wear/bring rubber boots and other “bay gear” as it is likely to be muddy. Any cameras or other delicate gear should be secured in a waterproof container. After reading email, residents who have additional questions may contact the PCEMA office at (360) 642/875-9340.
